Information for students enrolled in FM's College in the High School program

Using the Evans Library from off-campus

FM students in online or blended courses enjoy the same library rights and privileges as on-campus students.  They have access to books, periodical articles, research assistance, and reference services via the Evans Library’s home page, by email at libinfo@fmcc.edu or telephone (518.736.3622 x8058).  The information below includes an overview of these services.

Access

All online Library services and materials are accessible from off-campus. To access online resources, use  your MyFM username and password (the same information you use to access Blackboard and MyFM resources). If you wish to use resources on campus, you may need your FM Student ID which is available at Public Safety (x8405).

Books/Audiovisual Materials

The Evans Library's materials collection is searchable from our online catalog and WorldCat (library collections from around the world).  Evans Library materials can be checked out using your FM Student ID card, available at the Public Safety office. Arrangements will be made for delivery of print materials as needed. eBooks are also available, see the Evans Library's home page for details.

Magazine/Journal Articles

A wide variety of online periodical resources are available via the Library databasesThe Library currently has over 30 full-text databases.  Resources include full-text general as well as subject-specific databases that are all accessible from off-campus using your MyFM username and password.

Interlibrary Loan

Books and/or articles not held by The Evans Library are available to all students from other libraries via this online form. Students can use the online forms to request materials.

Other Libraries

As members of the SUNY community and upon presentation of a valid FM Student ID card, distance learning students are entitled to use the collections, services, and facilities of all SUNY campus libraries. Additionally, FM students may use other area public libraries as their individual policies dictate.

Research/Research Assistance

The Library offers a variety or research and reference assistance.  The ability to contact a librarian for assistance at any day and/or time is available through the online chat reference service located on our home page.  Direct Reference help is available via email or telephone 518.736.3622 x8058.
