Thanks for your interest in working at the Evans Library.  Applications are accepted on a rolling-basis and can be turned in at the 1st floor Circulation Desk. The Evans Library offers employment based on student's positive attitude and aptitude for working in a busy academic library.

Library Student Aidesstudent aides

Library Student Aides provide support for library staff by helping to provide service and assistance to all library patrons.  You may be called upon to assist patrons with the use of computers and software, circulate materials, help maintain the public spaces, and provide support in other ways as directed.


You must have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Library users and campus staff. You must be able to follow oral and written instructions and to communicate effectively. You must have a basic familiarity with computers and the Windows environment. Employment preference will be given if you have successfully completed CIS105 and/or demonstrate excellent computer skills. Second-year/transfer student(s) and those with a 2.5 GPA or higher in a previous semester are preferred.

 Library Aide duties include:

  • Staffing the Service Desk & Smiling
  • Checking out, renewing, and checking in books
  • Shelving/shelf-reading library materials
  • Assisting computer users - saving, printing, etc
  • Loading copiers with paper
  • Processing mail
  • Other tasks as assigned.

We are now accepting applications for the Fall semester!  To qualify, you must register for classes before you submit your application.
