The New York State Department of Transportation is divided by region. Region 2, the Mohawk Valley Region, has a full-time staff of 620 to serve the approximate 480,000 people living in the six-county area (Hamilton, Herkimer, Fulton, Madison, Montgomery, and Oneida Counties) that covers 6,146 square miles. The residents inhabit 8 cities, 53 villages, and 89 towns, traveling on 1,335 centerline miles of state highways, 482 state bridges, and 95 miles of Amtrak Line.
Through a network of 24 regional centers, the New York State Small Business Development Center delivers high quality business counseling and training to New Yorkers who want to start a business or improve the performance of an existing business.
